Getting started
What is GoalTrack?
Section titled “What is GoalTrack?”GoalTrack keeps issue tracking, a wiki, and goal metrics in one workspace. Link a goal metric to an initiative and progress on the issues under it rolls up into how close you are to the goal. Issues, wiki pages, and metrics all live inside a workspace, so you start by creating one.
Your first day
Section titled “Your first day”Follow these three pages in order, and goals, work, and results connect in one workspace.
- Workspace and teams — create a workspace, split it into teams, and invite people.
- Your first issue and project — write work down as issues and group them into projects.
- Goals and metrics — set a goal with an initiative and see in numbers whether you reached it.
When you create a workspace, two pages come with it in the wiki’s General space: Getting started with GoalTrack and Working rules for new teams. The working-rules page has a first-week checklist you tick off yourself.
Walkthroughs
Section titled “Walkthroughs”- Sort issues by type — split bugs, features, and questions with a label group and group your lists by it.
- Record decisions in the wiki and link them to issues — make “why did we do this?” one click away from the issue.
- Track goals on a dashboard — put metrics on one screen and compare them with their targets.
- Let pull requests move your issues — open and merge a PR on GitHub or GitLab and the issue status follows.
Move over from another tool
Section titled “Move over from another tool”Import issues under Try in the sidebar brings in data from Linear (CSV or an API key), Jira (CSV), and Confluence (space export ZIP). A preview shows what will come in before you confirm. Workspace owners and admins can import.
Connect your systems
Section titled “Connect your systems”To push metric values from CI or batch jobs, or to receive issue changes as webhooks, see the developer docs.
